Which files can MetaShield clean?
Version 1.0.0 cleans JPEG metadata only. It can inspect metadata in supported photos and videos, but it does not clean video files or other image formats in this release.
Does MetaShield change my original?
No. The original is opened read-only and is never modified. Cleaning creates a separate copy.
Where is my saved file?
Tap Save to save a cleaned JPEG locally to Pictures/MetaShield. It stays there until you delete it.
Why does the picker mention location metadata?
Android Photo Picker may ask whether to include location metadata with selected media. MetaShield does not request location permission or broad photo/storage permissions.
What happens to a shared copy?
Android Sharesheet grants the receiving app read-only access to the cleaned copy. It may remain in local cache temporarily, approximately up to one hour, with stale copies purged later. The receiving app’s privacy policy applies after sharing.
Are there accounts, ads, or purchases?
MetaShield 1.0.0 has no accounts, login, ads, billing, paid content, or subscriptions. This answer applies to the current MetaShield build only.
Where is the Google Play download?
MetaShield is preparing for testing/release. A verified store link will be added to its product page when available.
