1. Data collection and processing
OmniModTech does not collect data through MetaShield 1.0.0. MetaShield does not transmit data and has no Internet permission. Media inspection and JPEG metadata cleaning take place on your device, without cloud processing or cloud storage.
The app accesses the individual photo or video you choose with Android Photo Picker so it can inspect metadata and identify privacy-sensitive metadata. For JPEG files, it can create and verify a cleaned copy. Your original media is opened read-only and is never modified.
2. Media access and permissions
MetaShield uses Android Photo Picker for access to user-selected media. It does not request broad photo or storage permissions, location permission, or Internet permission. The picker may ask whether to include location metadata with selected media; this does not give MetaShield a location permission.
3. Temporary copies and retention
Cleaned copies are stored locally in app-private cache using neutral generated filenames. An unshared copy is deleted when you leave the result. If you share a copy, it may remain temporarily—approximately up to one hour—so the receiving app can read it. Stale copies are purged later; the approximate period is not a guaranteed deletion deadline.
4. Copies you save
A cleaned JPEG is saved only when you explicitly tap Save. It is saved locally in Pictures/MetaShield and remains there until you delete it. To remove a saved copy, delete that file from your device.
5. Copies you share
Sharing occurs only when you explicitly tap Share and choose a destination through Android Sharesheet. The receiving app is granted read-only access to that cleaned copy. After sharing, the receiving app’s privacy policy applies to its handling of the file, including any retention or transmission it performs. MetaShield’s local cache cleanup does not delete copies retained by the receiving app.
6. Ads, analytics, accounts, and payments
MetaShield 1.0.0 has no ads, analytics, Firebase, crash-reporting SDK, accounts, or login. The current build has no billing, payments, or subscriptions. There is no MetaShield account to delete.
7. Local handling and backups
Original files are accessed read-only. Temporary cleaned copies are held in app-private cache, and explicit sharing grants read-only access to the selected cleaned copy. App backup, cloud backup, and device-to-device app data transfer are disabled for MetaShield. These app settings do not control how other apps handle files you save or share.
8. Scope and changes
This policy describes MetaShield 1.0.0. It does not describe unimplemented Pro features or other OmniModTech apps. If a later release changes data handling or adds features that affect this policy, the policy must be updated to describe that release.
