Select one photo or video using Android Photo Picker, inspect its metadata, and identify privacy-sensitive metadata. For JPEG images, create a cleaned copy and verify it before saving or sharing.

A simple, local workflow

  1. Select: choose one photo or video with Android Photo Picker.
  2. Inspect: review metadata in supported media.
  3. Clean a JPEG: create and verify a separate cleaned copy.
  4. Save or share: save to Pictures/MetaShield or use Android Sharesheet when you choose.

Built around your original

Your original file is opened read-only and never modified. Processing happens on your device. MetaShield 1.0.0 has no Internet permission, accounts, ads, analytics, cloud processing, or payments.

Know the limits

Version 1.0.0 supports metadata inspection for supported photos and videos; metadata cleaning is JPEG-only. It does not clean videos or other image formats in this release. Metadata cleaning does not guarantee anonymity or complete untraceability.

Release status

MetaShield is being prepared for Google Play testing/release. The current 1.0.0 build is free, with no ads, login, or paid content. A verified store link will be added when available.
